Should Black Friday Be Changed?

I noticed that I started getting A TON of emails for "pre black friday" deals and honestly, it is just getting worse every year. It happens sooner and sooner and I get flooded with more and more. Why not just call this entire month "Black November" and be done with it? Everyone starts putting stuff on sale after the 1st week of November and they have sales going till the end of the month. Everything bleeds together. Cyber Monday was once just "monday" and now it is "Cyber Week".

The thing is people are dumb enough to fuel those to the maximum, always ready to believe they're saving money by spending it.
This black friday POS even reached us here in France and is getting worse by the year.
As i see it, it signs the end of the somewhat tranquility we had here concerning those trash trends.
Oh well, thanks uncle sam for another marvelous advance in civilisation.

I actually check prices of things I want months in advance. You have to check in September. A lot of times, these "deals" are actually only cutting 5% off their normal prices. They hike the prices up for October and early November to make you think you are saving a lot more than you really are.

I think it should be removed completely, because the amount of death than can and has happened in the past in the USA, is sad.

Having said that, high street shopping never interested me. I'm not against Black Friday in the same way I'm not against Christmas. Obviously different things, but companies commercialise anything far beyond what's necessary. Thanks to the sales I've saved money on presents I was going to buy anyway. As long as you're not an idiot and don't go overboard, nothing wrong with a sale.

I thought they were being funny but yeah it isn't that people. People get hurt but being outright killed is very rare.

The e-mails are bothersome, but as Mantis said, this stuff has been going on for 12+ years. People know how crazy Black Friday can get. If they choose to go out there and take part then I don't care. There are equally good deals online anyway!!!

Even here in Asia where we don't even celebrate Thanksgiving, Black Friday Sale in malls causes traffic jams. It's because a lot of shops and restaurants here originated from the U.S. and they were the ones who started the Black Friday Sale here in the Philippines. Well I guess it's one way of celebrating the start of the Christmas Season.

Maybe it's old in the US, but as i said here in France it's new (started around last year) and we were PERFECTLY fine without
this american organised robbery. We are already insulted enough through everyday capitalism, but this black friday shit
is really an insult to human intelligence, and can be especially unwelcome around here (me for example) depeding on who you're talking to.
