Thread: Accessing the Leyline

As many of you know the Patreon was recently closed. Every person who has donated before has been granted access to the special forum used to showcase and discuss behind-the-scenes projects, the Galactic Leyline. (If you have donated but haven't received that permission, let me know and I'll fix it.)

So now that the Patreon is gone there was seemingly no longer a way for others to get into the Leyline. That isn't the case now. You can purchase access to the Leyline with your wong currency.



This object from Saiyo Wong contains the coordinates to the Galactic Leyline. You can purchase it for 50,000 wong in the market and get permanent access to that forum. Of course, there's no need to get this if you already have access. There are some other changes I need to mention. Due to changes in the currency the amount of wong has needed to be reset. This might mean you have more or less wong than before. (I have a lot less.) The new amount is your amount of posts multiplied by 50. Some good news is that you will now earn much more wong for your actions such as posting and creating threads.

There used to be a bank in the market. It has now been removed. If you ever invested wong in your bank account, you can let me know and I can find a way to restore it to your normal wong balance. However, if you have an absurd amount (due to an interest bug that occurred some time ago) that will need to be reduced.

If you don't have enough wong to buy the coordinates there are ways to get the amount faster. First of all I am introducing a lottery. You can find the lottery at the top bar underneath the logo. There is a current lottery that ends in a couple of days. Purchase some tickets and if you win you will earn 100,000 wong, enough to buy the coordinates and then some.

There is a new Tao magic spell that will allow you to earn wong faster too.



It's called "Fortune" and it isn't cheap. So it's up to you to decide whether it's worth the investment as it acts as a replacement for the bank. You will be able to earn interest from your wong again if you buy the spell. There is another Tao magic spell that's been around for a while called "Old Man" (taken from the anime) that increases your steal chance. (It's a devious method to "earn" wong more quickly.)

I plan to introduce more Tao magic spells that will do many things including changing your user title or username colour. I don't want everyone to get custom colours so you need to work hard to get that. Or reach the 1500 post count for a red username and custom user title.

Now, a few extra notes. I will write a completely new set of forum guides that will eventually be added to the top. The forum has needed this for a long time. Secondly, I considered removing the arcade because for a long time it's been almost completely unused. This might happen but it also might be replaced with an arcade that plays HTML5 games. (Thus working on your browsers again.) I'm not sure for certain yet. Last but not least, the Triple Triad card game is something that was cool but I only really experimented with instead of taking it seriously. My goal is that before the end of next month it will be completely finished. Over 150 Outlaw Star trading cards. I still treat it as more of a personal project. If not many people end up playing it when it's finished, that's okay. The currently available Triple Triad is in early stages with only a few dozen cards and one CPU opponent. (Hopefully over ten CPU opponents once finished.)

Edit: Unfortunately, once again there is a problem with the forum. The lottery isn't working so I'll increase its duration and reply when it's fixed.

Very cool updates, I was always a fan of the marketplace & enjoyed collecting the items as a new member. I'll be picking these up as well

I had near INFINITY Wong in my Bank. I guess that's no longer the case. It's somewhat poetic with all the Wall St. stuff going on now that the OSN bank would close its doors and lock my Wong away from me.

I'll join in the lottery when it goes live. In a real-world lottery/raffle, those who purchase a ticket and do not win finance the winner(s). I had hoped to buy 100 tickets to increase the prize pool, but it looks like there's a static reward. As site staff it wouldn't be proper for me to win, so if I do I will donate that balance to others for high-effort posts/threads.

Technically you still have the wong in your bank. I disabled the bank but the bank balances aren't deleted... yet. I might place a cap. The rules around that will be:

If you had wong in your bank you can claim it, but only claim up to 100,000 of it. With it being disabled, the bank balances will be cleared by the end of February, so if you don't ask by then... too bad.

I was going to have a standard raffle. It's the best way to do it, but only in theory. The fact that not that many people will probably enter the lottery would have made the prize rather low. Low enough to put people off even bothering with it in the first place. In that case it's better to just give high rewards so members have a reason to buy the tickets.

Those are some noble intentions! Also, there will be another way to earn wong. (In this case, more so retroactively.) I just haven't announced it yet since there wasn't really enough time for a January poll. I think throughout the latter half of February there will be a Member of the Year poll for 2020. It was always Member of the Month (and I think on one occasion Member of the Season) so it'd be interesting to try something new with a very hefty wong payout.
