    OSN Steam Gaming Weekends!

So we've discussed this multiple times and I made a thread about the same thing quite long ago. I think it would be a good idea if we discussed the best times (Saturday?) for this and which games we should play. There's one game we can all play which is Team Fortress 2. But we don't want to play that all the time, do we?

There are some cheap multiplayer games. One I've enjoyed playing with a few members here is called 100% Orange Juice. Please add any suggestions. I'm not the only one who suggested a gaming weekend, thus I don't want to be the only decision maker here. If you'd like to join in, please join this Steam group if you haven't already, and also reply with your Steam URL.

    My Steam URL: http://steamcommunity.com/id/genestarwind/

p.s. Remember, you can get many games for cheaper on sites like G2A. We could also agree to get $1 (or near that) bundles if there are multiplayer games in them.

I finally got my Windows PC back so thankfully I'm no longer restricted by platform! As for suggestions, I can only think of a few: Pirates, Vikings and Knights II, which is a first person melee game where you choose between three seperate teams each with their own classes, great fun all around. Free to download on Steam.

Fistul of Frags, which is another FPS with an old west flavor, revolvers, repeating rifles, hatchets, dynmaite, and steam trains galore. Also free to download on Steam.

And GoldenEye: Source, which is a Source remake of the classic N64 shooter. The only snag with this one is you won't be able to download it directly from Steam, but rather from their website: http://www.moddb.com/mods/goldeneye-source

That's all I can think of as far as suggestions go, however they are all very violent so I understand they may not be to everyones' tastes. I brought 100% Orange Juice recently as it was on sale so I would be up for a game of that anytime. As for times... I've noticed most members seem to be active during the evening (UK timezone, which would be the afternoon in the US), so maybe sometime around then?

It's really sad I had to google my own steam ID to figure out the link. I was waaay off on my attempts.
Anyway, I can be found on steam here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/jrolik/

I'm somewhat restricted on space and my computer is kind of...uh...flaky. I get driver issues a lot, so I may sporadically be unable to play depending on how much my computer hates me on a given day/week. Some of you have gotten used to my sudden computer troubles at times. That said...I wouldn't be able to guarantee when I'll be joining in anyway. So hopefully there's no definitive sign-up list for pre-joining. xD

I don't know many games that are multiplayer on steam outside things like 100% OJ and plenty of MMOs on there, but seeing some of the ones mentioned makes me curious about them. I might just install and uninstall games as we play them. I plan to look into some of the ones mentioned here even further later.

As for a good time...I'm fine early evening most of the time (US time), but I've been known to stay up until midnight. I do have a question: Can we join in on chatting even if we don't play the game that day? Just curious.

GMod is always a fun game with plenty of great modes, like Prop Hunt. I'd be up for trying some other games, though, and I'm available most days, just depends when I work, really.

June, we can all enter the Outlaw Star Nexus chat room on Steam and chat there. I'll be in it every Saturday.

I love your suggestions, Hari. Pirates, Vikings and Knights II probably appeals to me the most, though I was a big GoldenEye fan back in the day. We'll have to find a way to introduce more genres too, since I think a lot of the free games are action as they're mods of the HL2 engine. On that note, though I suggested 100% OJ, if we ever find more than four players for a weekend, four is the limit 100% OJ supports. Therefore, I have a couple of suggestions which are browser-based. Well, while the first is browser-based, you can optionally get buy a Steam version, though it isn't needed.

    Town of Salem
    iSketch

The first is a game of deception, in which each player is assigned a different role in a town and players must meet up regularly to decide who execute. Some roles are able to kill at night, etc. Each has some kind of special ability. The short video below will probably give you a better idea.

iSketch is a simple game. Players are selected in order to draw a word that is private to them, and other players must guess it. Again, trust this video instead of my crappy explanation.

Some other good multiplayer (paid or free) games I found...

Payday 1/2 - If not on sale on Steam can be had pretty cheap on G2A
Halo: Combat Evolved - It can be found for free, and I can help you with that
Left 4 Dead 1/2 - Might as well get the second game, same G2A suggestion applies
    (Trying to find non-FPS games...)
Worms Armageddon is a great classic and not that expensive on G2A

Ehhh, I'll look for some more when I can. Let's start this going on Saturday.
