    Berry's Art Time

I do a lot of art, including mostly comics and random sketches and writing. Because there's a lot I could share, I decided I'll mostly be using links and/or making a nice big list here. Of course, I'll let you know when I post something new. But...It'll take time to figure out how to organize things. So for the beginning, it'll be a bit...er...awkward?

Unfortunately, I have no OLS art at this time. It actually irks me that I looked at my giant DA account and the only thing with Outlaw Star was a meme I'd done years ago of favorite female characters because I adore Melfina so much. But...I did make a video of singing her song once. I'll be using that as my first link. I mean, technically it counts as an AMV...right...?

    So...AMVS/Videos/Songs:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5kHiHnDjPI
[Sorry my singing is super quiet and all. Also I don't use Little as a name anymore. This video is like...ancient].

    Derpy Drawings
http://orig06.deviantart.net/5c4d/f/...an-da8urzy.png "Razoruck" -- A creature that scares me to no end because it's based on a nightmare I had in childhood that will never truly leave my mind. Drew it awkwardly in paint. But I mean, preteen friends can handle it so it's probably not as bad as I think. I'm just a scaredy cat.

    Comics/Comic Based Art:
Saint Devil Cover - Blood warning.
Yui Baseball - My character, Yui, playing baseball. She's from one of my comics and you'll see her in some of those in a bit.
Daiki Gets Fanservice - Main character of Saint Devil/one of my comics and his reaction to a pantyshot he was shown. Warning for pantyshot?
Saint Devil page 5 - Read right to left please~
SDQA 3 - I accept reader/friend questions to answer to do a QA for Saint Devil. This one included a Star Wars reference~
Random Blarby Thing - Was playing with my new expansion of RPGish items.
PoD Cover - Cover for my July 2015 CampNaNoWriMo novel. Made because supposedly making a cover makes you more likely to finish the project...xD
Fukui Kenna - A little image of Kenna I made to include in her bio. Why did I make it so complicated for myself though...?
Comic Diary Entry 35 - A super old thing from a comic journal I was doing. I have so many of this thing xD
Crime Scene - A crime scene I tried to make. It has blood but not much. Also weird angle. But whatever.
ComiPo Skin Swatches - Me playing with the new ability to change skin tone FINALLY.

    Game Dev Stuff
Mini Map First MiniMap I ever made, using built in RPGMaker VX Tiles.
Mini Map 6 - MiniMap using built in RPGMaker VX tiles. Probably will be used in an actual project eventually...Because it's based on a story setting of mine.
    Mini Map 10
-MiniMap using built in RPGMaker VX tiles.
Mini Maps 19-22 - I did a few sets of Mini-maps at once due to when I lost computer access for a while (because it wasn't working). I liked this one best because of the attempt at a piece of a puzzle on the top-left quadrant. Don't mind the bordering boxes.
Mini Map 30 - An icy cave. Not as fond of the ground in the center but meh. Otherwise I enjoyed how it came out. tried to do some shading but failed.
Mini Map 34 - Yes it looks like a museum. I guess it is? Pokemon map tiles are fun. xD
Mini Map 39 - Started making little map sections. This one is my favorite of the two I have so far.
Pokemon Player House Player House made using Pokemon for Ace Crystal Engine
Pokemon Lab - My attempt at a lab using the Pokemon for Ace Crystal Engine stuff.

    Pixely Things
    - Pudding Creature
    - Die Guy?

    Writing Stuff:
Darkness is My Friend - A poem I wrote about migraines during one. I'm just linking straight to my DA for it because I'm too deal with the spacing here xD.

And since I think I know how to make a spoiler, here's a poem I've posted nowhere else done with a long haiku format~ Unnamed so far.
    Apples blossom autumn.
Colors race to paint the trees,
    Leading leaves away.

    Winter kills silence
    With shivers, jitters and cries.
    Snow covers with chills.

    The hidden flowers bloom,
    Rising above once darkened dirt.
    Color returns life.

    The heat melts our hearts.
Sweat pools from our burning flesh,
    Yet it's joy we find.

A random little snippet from my novel Play or Die that I'm working on...
    “What the...Where am I?”
“You blacked out while we were on the phone two days ago. You were freaking out about your arm disappearing and even though I didn't believe you...” The young girl had tears in her eyes, tears that were clearly struggling to get over her cheeks and into her mouth that had a bit of drool coming from it as she continued to speak. “W-When I got the paramedics on the phone and they called after they found you, you were unconscious with blood coming out of your shoulder and no sign of your cut off arm...”
“Are you alright, son?” Their strongly built father asked, his low voice less worried and more stoic- as if he didn't care, arms crossed to add to the feeling. “The gods must be against you.”
Aylen frowned. “Big brother, how did this happen?”
“I don't know. One minute we were chatting and a zombie just cut my arm off in game, and the next minute...this.”
He saw the way his sister's eyes were wandering towards the hospital window. Outside, a storm was brewing: rain covering the glass to hinder the view of the parking lot outside, thunder crashing among the clouds. It wasn't just a bad omen, it was a disaster waiting to happen. Or rather...Proof of a disaster already happening. “Big bro, something weird has been happening lately.”
    “What do you mean?”
“I actually lost to Kelly this week when some of us were playing hide and seek. She's smart, but she usually can't hide that well. And when I was at home this morning getting ready to come here, I managed to fix a hair tie I had that snapped while I was doing my braids. There's been a lot of weird stuff in the news too. People dying and just disappearing out of nowhere...and yesterday, in Spain...Some guy even said he saw a real-life Ignis.”
“It's probably just a bunch of coincidences- and the last one was probably a guy from a psych hospital.”
    “He was a psychiatrist.”
“See? Psych hospital. Now calm your jets, kiddo.”

Next up is The Black Sheep, a dark short story written for a contest...which I won. It scared even the harder to scare people and contains slightly graphic images and talk of suicide and other heavy issues. Read at your own risk.

From the moment she was born, Melanie was the purest of outcasts in the Shepard family. Though treated fondly by her parents, no one could recall a moment where she smiled. It had always seemed her heart was as dark as her name. Always with a grimace at best, she preferred to hide behind her black bangs than be seen by the public. She preferred anything dark- from horror novels to black licorice and coffee. She was the only person in the family who couldn't stand being near an open window. She was the truest of 'black sheep' there were.

Not only amongst her family but also her peers, Melanie was the one separate from the herd. She was always hiding in the back of the room, often ignored by the other girls. The only people that would approach her were her bubbly little brother Raymond, her equally chipper sister Blanche, and some of the boys in class that wanted to torment her- mostly because, recently that year, they'd learned to look up the meanings of their names, and her name was literally 'black sheep'.

To many, she was a toy. Quiet by nature, she was easily abused without a word of complaint. By the time she was fifteen, she'd already had her first miscarriage, after about her third or fourth such encounter with a male- none of which she'd even been interested in. Though she seemingly came from a happy home, no one was willing to listen when she finally tried to speak up against the father of her unborn baby- who was, as well, her own. Her mother laughed at her for the very thought, saying it was clearly just a delusion to get attention- after all, no one really paid heed to her like they did Raymond and Blanche.

Raymond and Blanche had no scars, either. It had been decided by the disinterested nurses that all her wounds- the bruises in places she likely couldn't really reach herself as well as the clear razor marks on her arms- were all self inflicted for attention. After all, such a silent student had no reason to be harming herself. It was her own fault she was picked on or ignored since she didn't do anything to be noticed, right? So of course the wounds were her way to finally get the attention she 'felt she deserved'.

It was true, she'd admit- part of the wounds was for attention. It wasn't to be noticed by her classmates- it was to be noticed by the supposed 'authorities' and 'people with power' that could help save her when she couldn't seem to get her issues noticed. The other half of it was just to satisfy her need to feel something, anything- because she'd grown so numb from the pain others put her through, she needed to know she could cause it, too.

That final day, too, she was hoping to see if she could cause pain.

Laying in bed, bruised and battered, mind reeling over the trauma of the past decade since her family had seemingly turned against her, she could only watch in wonder as the ceiling fan's sharp blades spun at a rapid pace. She made a mental image of what it would be like if she could get up close to it- would it be able to cut her flesh? Would she feel it against her throat like the hands that tried to choke her at times? Or, would it stop short as she approached it, not wanting to be near her as much as she wanted to get away from herself?

With a deep sigh, she sat up. There was no way she could get up close enough to the fan to feel the pain of those blades. There was only one blade she could reach and feel against her skin- the razor she hid in her sock drawer, below the many ripped pairs of panties that had been soiled by strangers and supposed friends alike. Pulling it out was simple and almost cathartic to her- it'd been a week since the blade had last touched her skin, leaving the most recent red scar against her arm.

She pulled it slowly against her wrist, the sharp edge cutting seamlessly through her flesh and into the vein below. Blood only trickled out, and in all honesty, she could barely feel it anymore. "I'm so used to it that it doesn't even feel like anything...I don't even feel the pressure."

Her mind raced back to the image of the fan spinning at her throat. She was curious if she could bleed there. She was curious if she'd feel it...Or if she'd care if she felt it, in the end. Then, she thought about the very word- 'end'. That's it! She could end it all- then she would never have to feel this pain ever again!

For the first time in her life, as she looked in the mirror, her brown eyes were glazed over and staring at a crooked grin. Her lips hurt being turned upwards, having never felt the need to smile in her life. She looked at the blood soiling the edge of her razor, and the smile grew. If she could cut herself somewhere more deadly...She could surely be saved from this nightmare.

She took one last look at a nearby photo of her family. Naturally, she was the only one lacking a smile in it. Her crossed arms hid numerous scars just like the one she'd started creating moments ago...But what was hidden most were the many scars upon her heart and soul. If she could stab her heart, she would- but she was sure the razor would never cut that far, meaning she could be found before she could find salvation from this place she wanted to finally be freed from.

Finally, she took the only step she could think of. She pulled the razor as close to her throat as she could, smiling one more time into the mirror. Slowly, the sharp ridges sliced through her flesh- and soon, as well, the tube that let air reach her lungs. Blood gushed out, soaking the nearby dresser, mirror and the family photo she pretended she held dear- and within moments, as the blood began to flow out and in at the same time, filling her lungs as it did the carpet below, she collapsed to the ground, arm barely remaining against the dresser's top. By the time she was found, she was a lifeless corpse.

Finally, she was free from the life she dreaded- forever.

Thanks for sharing and keep it coming.

    Yeah, migraines are just awful.
I hope you don't have too many of those!

Added a nifty poem and a new comic. I figured out spoilers!! *flails*

I'm glad you liked it~ Migraines stink, but they make for good art sometimes o.O
Sadly I'm basically on permanent medicine for them xD

I need to stop missing cool threads!

I've already seen most of this via Steam, but it's good stuff! Winter kills, full stop! I hate it. The sun can try to melt me, but I still love it. Awesome haiku, and keep your art coming.

I was born on the cusp of winter and spring, and despite the calendar claiming it's Spring, it often is snowing still long after my birthday [first week of Spring, March 24th...Supposedly it's Spring...xD]. We get snow in my area well into April sometimes, and once had it in May randomly too. But whenever it's a sunny day for my birthday, I'm happy.

I'm glad you like my stuff. I'm really proud of most of what I post. I should post some drawn stuff too though...Oops.

Reviving this thread because for the first time in a year, I've actually updated the first post! There's a new section for me to put maps and stuff for Game Dev that I've been working on (mostly practice stuff for now). I'm gonna add more later probably, but there are four maps for now.

I wanted to reply to this sooner, but there have been plenty of new posts lately and it got swallowed by the "new posts" list. I love the update. Also, your ComiPo comics often make me smile! You're a good writer. As I told you before I thoroughly enjoyed the The Black Sheep. You should start looking into expanding your RPG Maker skills. Also consider a book about game scripting and narratives, like this one. One can be a good storyteller, but structure for a game takes much study. Keep at it.

Thanks for the reference! When I have funds, I'll have to buy that book since it looks helpful- maybe I'll splurge on it for my birthday or at the holidays. And yeah- I'm slowly working on RPG Maker skills. I actually started trying to learn to pixel tiles and stuff. Naturally, the first thing I made was pudding- which turned out okay...ish. I'm working on awkward tiny patterns now. But pixels are hard....Blargh.

I should make a small image and show it off. But for the grid someone gave me to work with is huge, so...It's so many blank pieces right now! I also want to learn to make my own character sheets eventually. But that might be a little much...For now.

I normally just shove my new stuff into my first post, but...Surprise! I'm joining the 'attempt a smiley making' thing. I used Hari's base from the Gene ones because I'm kinda lazy (okay, super lazy) and suck at this stuff usually.

But here, have a Jim attempt (no transparency, done in paint xD)

I hope it's okay I uploaded as an attachment.

Thanks for joining the effort, but to be honest with you, it's a good start but probably better suited to a Jim Hawking who is as old as Gene. I think Hari's base is best suited to adult characters and that Jim's face shape—as an eleven-year-old—would need a large adjustment. I can get round to making a childlike base (perhaps good for Hanmyo too), but that might be a little in the future with all the OSN tasks and other smilies.
