Thread: Outlaw Fantasy VIII #1

Here is issue #1 of my Fan Fiction of Outlaw Fantasy VIII. A crossover story between Final Fantasy VIII and the Outlaw Star Anime. It was originally planned to be a manga but I'm starting with the script first; I hope everyone likes it. Here it goes...

Outlaw Fantasy VIII
Issue#1 Premonition

Story starts out in space and the Outlaw Star ship is seen drifting in space surrounded by asteroids. You see speech bubbles of Jim Hawking and Gene Starwind speaking. Jim: Great now we're in a asteroid field! Gene: Bite me! Next page shows all the crew members in the cockpit. Jim is shown and he is older (15) Jim says: See Gene this is why "I" should pilot the ship once in awhile. Gene: C'mon cut me some slack. Haven't I got you out of tighter spots than this? Now you see Gene look back and say ," Isn't that right Mel? You see a side view of Melfina in her containment tube and she has a discomforted expression on her face. Now you see a profile view of just her eyes closed similar to the recent picture. Now you see Melfina holding her hands on her head with parts of her astral navigation form swirling around herself. Melfina: Who are you? A woman's face is shown but only from her nose to her lips. The woman says, "..it's been a long time Melfina.... Next page shows her face and she says, "I guess you don't remember me. She is wearing an upper mask covering. Next panel shows her uncovering it. Then the main large panel is shown with the mysterious woman unmasked and she says, "I am Hamushi of The Anten Seven!" Melfina gasps and says, "You; I thought you were dead!" Hamushi: Sorry to disappoint you. I am alive and well. Melfina tries to run away and Hamushi reappears in front of her and says, "Where do you think you're going?" Melfina: No! Leave me alone! Hamushi's face has an angry expression on it. There is a distance between them and Hamushi continues to pursue Melfina. Hamushi suddenly stops and a different speech bubble appears. It is a voice from her subconscious. It speaks to her and says, " Enough of this foolishness! I'm taking over! Now you see Hamushi close her eyes and open them again and her eyes are yellow. Melfina is almost near a door. Hamushi raises her hand and says "TIME!" and freezes everything around her. Melfina was almost about to touch a door knob but she was frozen in place. Hamushi is looking into Melfina's face and says, "Finally. I finally have her. Now I can find this" Galactic Leyline" you told me about. Now a portal appears behind them and Hamushi takes Melfina into it and they disappear.

Now we are back to the ship and Gene continues talking to Melfina. Gene: Uh Mel are you ok? All of a sudden she starts to slowly disappear than the containment tube closes up. Then the tube opens up and she is no longer there. Now there is a 4 way screen shot panel of all the crew members faces in shock of what happened. Gene: What the hell!?! Melfina!! Jim: Oh my God; where is she? Aisha is looking around the area and Suzuka grabs her sword and looks with her. Red alarms start blaring and Jim says, "Gilliam what's going on where is Melfina? No response is heard. Than Gene says, "Gilliam what the hell is going on. Now you see a screech word bubble appear and Aisha grabs her ears and starts screaming. Now you see her on the floor and blood starts to come out of her ears. Now you see different scenes where each of the crew members are covering their ears. Aisha passes out on the floor. Suzuka and Jim are passed out side by side of each other and Jim's hand is on his chest. Gene is struggling on all fours with his hand reached out and the next panel shows him finally succumbing to the symptoms of the screech. Now you see two black pages. Now you see inside someone's eyes. They are opening and it's blurry. Now it's clear and you see a reflection of Squall in a mirror. Now you see captions that say "What?" "Where w-huh?" "Who is this and what the hell is going on?" (This is Gene talking) Squall backs up from the mirror. He then exits the bathroom and you see a phone ringing on a counter. The name that shows up and says Zell Dincht. Squall picks up and says hello? Yes...I'm on my way. To be continued.... Next issue. De Novo

Now that's a cool crossover. My favourite video game and my favourite anime in one package sounds cool and I could imagine this crossover working. Final Fantasy VIII shares similar technological badassery with Outlaw Star and also features space at one point. Out of all the Final Fantasy games, if there's one that would work best with Outlaw Star it's definitely VIII.

I like the premise and I reckon this could work as a manga. Although I'm wondering why Hamushi wants Melfina to get to the Leyline when the Leyline is where she (supposedly) died? I like the short FFVIII introduction at the end. It'd certainly build some suspense. How will you go about the manga side of it? Could you draw it? Fiverr has some good manga artists who work for cheap rates, something to keep in mind. (Really depends what you're willing to invest into this.)

Awesome I'm glad you like it. They're are 2 of my favorite things as well lol without spoiling too much Melfina still has some kind of connection to the leyline after she spilt from the leyline version of herself. The unseen force controlling Hamushi has a way to track the new location of the leyline and plans to use it for themselves. I'm pretty sure you know who this is if you played the game lol I'm still writing the script for the 2nd one. I may look into Fiverr for the artists. I had someone that was interested but they never got back to me. Oh well lol I have plenty of ideas in store so stay tuned.
