    RKMartins Writing

I will go ahead and post a children's poem that I wrote this previous semester to start off this thread. I will continue to post most of my writing here, unless I decide to dedicate a thread to a specific story. In that case I will post here to inform of updates on that thread. I don't fully know the protection this forum gives for writing, but I hope I can trust that no one would try and take my work, and post it as their own in any other medium.

    "Foot-Where?"
    By: R.K.Martin

    As I descended my stairs,
    I quickly realized,
    my feet were quite bare.

    This surely was not fair,
    for I was not aware,
that when I checked down stairs,
    my shoes wouldn’t be there.

    I did not dare,
    to make my mother aware,
    of my missing foot-wear,
    for it would surely elicit,
    her dreaded death glare.

I thought this was too much,
    too much to bare,
    Not to know where,
    That foot-wear had gone.

    They seemed to have vanished,
    in to thin air,
in a scent foul not fair.

    I searched here and there,
    for that illusive pair.

    I looked through the cupboards,
    the stove, and the washer,
    the sinks, and the toilets,
    and even the dogs hair.

    I eventual found them,
    with little time to spare,
    I was finally ready,
    to go to day care.

    You can laugh now,
but we will see how you fair,
    when your mother gives you,
    her dreaded death glare,
    do to missing foot-wear.
I should have liked, I do confess, to have had the lightest license of a child, and had been man enough to know it's value. - A Christmas Carol

I didn't spot this in the high amount of new threads, I'm afraid. I can't give you any guarantees for your work. All work is copyrighted. But when you're posting something publicly, there's not much you can do if somebody decides to steal it. That's just how the law works and is universal across the internet. I would also hope so too, but I make no guarantees since things like this are beyond my control.

I can see the occasional spelling and punctuation error, but for the most part it's very well written. It's certainly to the quality I'd expect to make it into a children's book.

Thank you, I guess the most I could do about the theft of any of my writing is just to try and make it known that it was my work, and prove it by posting dates.
