Thread: Audio Player Software of Choice?

Which software do you use to listen to music? Why do you use that media player, and would you consider switching? I think this is a fairly important topic to me at least, since firing up Winamp, which is my choice, is something I do on a daily basis. What I like about Winamp is how compact it is. Playlist creation and navigation is very easy.

I'm talking about the old-style Winamp though, mind. With the new Winamp versions, fortunately you can switch to the old style as I hate how Winamp looks now. Nowadays there are too many bells and whistles.

Winamp for me too, although I also use Media Player Classic for certain filetypes (namely .vob) and have left WMP as the default for watching DVD's.

And yes, older versions of Winamp are superior, simply for ease of use and being 'out of the way'. I've never needed most of the newer features either; I just create a playlist, hit 'Play', and get on with whatever I'm doing.

Winamp but it annoys me sometimes. Need a better programme.

I goddam hate itunes

Windows Media Player, but that's mostly because I'm lazy and use the default program that always pops up for my computer whenever I pop in a CD.

I-tunes, it's how I get my music and does all right.
I'm not the biggest music guy, but I enjoy my I-touch from time to time.

I don't like iTunes as it's a resource hog, but I had to use it back when I had an iPod Classic. (Which incidentally broke in the summer, and now I'm making a fairly decent amount for it via eBay.) I since got a Zune which I've found to be miles better, so I'm happy with that. The Zune software is less resource heavy than iTunes, though still not great in that department. It looks a lot nicer though.

Now that I've got my Open Pandora, I don't know if I'll still use my Zune, which is why I'm back to Winamp. I hate how the MP3 players with the biggest hard drives are restricted to strict software. Well, that's how it was when I bought the iPod Classic anyway.

Ah yeah. zune. need to get that i guess.

I've suspected that your late-hour shift has made you cranky. Don't worry though, I'm listening to nice music and I'm happy. You don't need to hold shift—it's not my problem.

We're going off-topic a bit though, no? Ah, I'm enjoying this great music using WINAMP with my sexy Sony headphones. There we go.
