    Computer help!

Well I have the chance to get my own computer and I am wondering what would be the best for the money ($1000 budget) that will play Nexon games( Mabigobi,Maple story) so what do you think?

    RE: Computer help!

Alright give me a little more details. I know your setting $1000 budget but what are you wanting to spend. There's plenty that will more than cover those game requirements for around $400. Here are few examples:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227320
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227339
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229254

As for something that costs up towards the $1000 mark:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229253
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229221

Personally speaking you can get way more bang for your buck by building your own, but you got to make sure everything is absolutely compatible, the downside to building your own though is having to purchase the operating separate which can be expensive. That's why pre-builts take the advantage in that aspect.

Again when I say "these computers will MORE than cover it", I'm serious, these are a little overboard haha. But this makes your options more flexible. You could get some bigger games like oblivion and run them respectably. Now here are some laptops as well:

    RE: Computer help!

I think kokirininja pretty much answered this, not to mention the fact that you won't be buying UK computers. Building one might be a bit daunting and a risk unless you know what you're doing. It's not highly difficult but if you make one mistake in your hardware purchases you could essentially end up with a huge brick. Does Newegg not match up the hardware to ensure it's all compatible if you build your own or something? (I know some sites do.)

Dell sometimes have some good deals. I got mine over a year and a half ago for close to £500 (let's say $775) and that had a semi-decent ATI card, 3GB of RAM, and an Intel i7 CPU. Dell cases are also very easy to open and whilst Dell computers aren't as easy to upgrade, I found their customer support quite useful, so if they have any deals going on, check 'em out too.

(For the record, my Dell computer was a business deal so I put my business down as Starwind and Hawking Enterprises. It was hilarious to see that on the box it came in.)

    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

Yeah, I think if you're building your own, you definitely need to know what you're doing, and I mean a rather advanced knowledge (I don't usually risk it, even though I am pretty familiar with pc stuff).

I think Dell is definitely a good manufacturer to go with, though I personally prefer Acer and I've had one for a long time before I spilled coffee with ice-cream all over and got another one. Still happy with it, though

@Mantis, no there is no compatibility checker on newegg, you have to go into the specs of each part and determine that yourself. And "Starwind and Hawking Enterprises?" Hahaha.

In general though computers are becoming easier to build. They are coming out with a bunch of screwless "technology" basically instert and slide the latch to lock in. It works but it can be pretty cheap (break easily). And the steps in the manuals can be followed by almost anyone. Even when it comes to the little mess of tiny wires for your audio, pw led and crap. They give you a huge block that fits over all those pins that plugs it in for you. To show you what I mean here are some pics (in spoiler):

    Normally you do this:

Now they give you this so you don't screw up:

Dont go Alienware. Apparently they've taken a nosedive quality wise since their new ownership.

    RE: Computer help!

Your welcome. Lol I just realized one of those laptops is pink, sorry about that, but hey if that doesn't bother you go for it XD
This is also a real good contender: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215120
During my internship the school we were working with got a whole bunch of new hp laptops and out of the 10 or so we got, 2 of them were already screwed. So HP isn't completely reliable when it comes to laptops.... That acer I linked is one my dad has and its been serving well so Its worth checking out.
This one here is going to give you a lot more bang for your money, its more powerful then the others I linked before it and should more than meet anything you throw at it and still sits comfortably under the $1000 mark:
