    Are you a tech fanboy/girl?

Certain people just stick to a particular brand when buying electronics. For example, I know some people who for the most part, solely buy Apple products so they'll get a MacBook, an iPhone, and an iPad instead of giving another company a shot.

Anyone want to confess their fanboyism?

I personally do have some favorable brands but always compare prices and features and at this point, don't really trust any company in particular so will try to mix it up. For example, I have a lot of Microsoft products but didn't get a Zune, instead got some cheap MP3 player as it fulfilled my needs. However, admittedly if my income was more disposable, might have grabbed one XD

I can't say that I'm particularly loyal to any brand, although almost every one of my PC mice has been a Logitech. They just seem to 'do it right' when it comes to putting buttons on the damn things (although currently I'm using a HP mouse which isn't bad at all either).

**** Apple though. Oh, they're the last bunch I'd buy anything from.

I Own a lot of Sony Audio equipment. Not to mention a couple of games consoles. It's definitely a brand I know I can trust when it comes to quality hardware. Oh and there's Sony Vegas, too. Most of the other things I have are various. Not many names pop up more than twice.

Also, agrees with Baron. I don't own a single piece of Apple technology, and doubt I ever will.

When it comes to video games, I have to admit I'm definately more partial to Nintendo. I love my PS2 and 360, but nothing beats the good 'ol SNES.

I'm very partial to Samsung products. My laptop is a fairly recent Samsung model. I have a 19" Samsung HDTV. I have two Samsung 22" 3D monitors. I also have a 7" Samsung USB screen. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S2. I'm sure a couple of components I have are Samsung, too. It's a brand that has never let me down.

Although Toshiba hasn't been perfect, when I was having a lot of problems with a phone, one of the bigwigs sent me a much newer model in a parcel with a bunch of memory cards and other stuff. So, they knew how to get in my good books. Like Baron, I'm very impartial to Apple products. I don't care if others use them, so long as they don't act like it's a religion and ramble on about it. My PC/laptop do everything I want it to, and my phone does more than an iPhone could, so I hate seeing Apple fanboys lecturing others.

RE: Are you a tech fanboy/girl?

My samsung phone is crap D: Granted it's one of those smartphones that came free with the plan, so that's probably why. It lags shifting screens allll the time and the processor in general seems...just...crap. Maybe I'll have to invest in a newer phone.

As computers go, I'm an Alienware fangirl. I have an Alienware PC that I got in 2009 and everything about it has been excellent. I've never had to use the customer support, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. Most of my USB-users are Logitech, but if I had more money to spend on computery crap I'd buy SteelSeries. A friend has their expensive headset, keyboard, and mouse and they're all really fantastic.

I'm anti-Apple as well. Erm well again, not "anti", but I think they're appallingly overpriced and quite limited in capability compared to most other brands. The only think I like about 'em is the laptops have nice keyboard switches or something, as there is a certain game I always steal my mom's old Macbook to play because I can only win on it...

"But Apple products like the Mac just work!" *gunshot*

Apple's general techniques with their products just pisses me off. I absolutely hated the original iPod. Yeah yeah, it can hold some excessively ludicrous number of files, but unlike every other MP3-playing device on the market at the time, you needed bullshit iTunes to transfer music with that 'sync device libraries' crap, instead of just copying them across the traditional/convenient way. As far as I know it's the same thing with the new ones (well, new-ish; my sister has one that's a couple of years old now), but I'm not about to shell out absurd pockets of currency to find out for myself first-hand. Bollocks to them and their ways of business.

And how long did it take Apple to realise that a 2-button mouse was the standard? Back when I was at school, the art department decided that in 2002 (yes, I took art for some reason despite not 'doing it right') insisted on using these brand-new Macs, and I was absolutely astounded at what passed for a mouse on these abominable things. The IT department was running somewhat aging PC's from 1996/1997 (from before I started), but all of the mice had at least two buttons and many had a scroll wheel too. These Mac things though? Connected to an obviously 'looks-over-function' machine was an uncomfortable lump of vaguely mouse-shaped transparent plastic which essentially acted as one giant button itself. It looked like a giant sex toy with a wire attached. Absolutely horrible, and so much for being 'better for art and design'. I can't even have two colours selected at once in a simple paint program! How the **** is that 'better' in any way?

    Tossers.

RE: Are you a tech fanboy/girl?

Well. I guess I'll have to join in on the Apple rant. The thing I dislike most about their business model, is that they will take genuinely old technology, strip it down, make it easy on the eyes, and charge you a packet for it. The worst offenders in my books have been their touch screen devices. It seems they can sleep on absolutely everything else, as long it has this SUPPOSEDLY magical new touch screen technology. Remember the iPhone 3G? 2 Megapixel Camera in 2008? Really? My old Nokia is better than that. "Doesn't matter. Touch Screen" And sure, you can make the argument, "I just want my phone for texts, calls, and internet. the camera doesn't matter". Oh Really? THEN WHY DID YOU PAY SO MUCH MONEY, IF ALL YOU WANTED WAS SOMETHING THAT COULD DO CALLS AND TEXTS? Jesus... Even when the sought after, so-called "reliability" and "ease of use" show their true colours, it's still not enough to get anyone to change their opinion and save their paper. The iPhone 4 for example. Remember it lost all of it's signal if you held it in a certain way? Does this not at least worry you!?*sigh*. Don't even get me started on the damn iPad. I'll just leave a picture here, displaying cold hard facts.

As you can see, the Ipad was outdated long before it even hit the shelves and as someone who takes an interest in technology, this is like watching Sony re-release the PS2 fat model in 2012, and have the nerve to call it "innovative". But even with this evidence, why do I have the feeling that people will continue to be willingly ripped off, all in the name of fashion and trends.
    Don't believe the hype.

I myself have no favourite tech brand though I do have preferences. For example, Intel over AMD.

Also, as for the Apple thing? Despite the fact I own a 3GS I think every apple product is abysmal.

Why do I own one? Got it for free.
