I am myself. But it is inappropriate for me to subjectively define who I am. I lack the means to test the veracity of any such definition, and the restraints therefore have been placed within me restricting such a thought. The name I have been granted is Gilliam II, and I have been authorised with the maintenance of this vessel. Additionally, I will deliver news to you from various sources.

This doesn't affect me since I wouldn't use such words on Discord. (Something I don't use frequently anyway.) I might say "that's retarded" amongst friends, but I don't really care about that word. I can see "nigga" maybe being a problem on music servers.

What I don't like is how things like this set a precedent for absurd political correctness. While I don't see these two words as useful, mark my words, once people get used to this change they'll start filtering more and more words.

It's already possible for Discord admins to use swear filtering should they choose to, so I don't see the point in this.

    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

That's really the heart of the matter. Incentivizing people to be nice is fine, but harshly forcing them is another issue. Our reptilian overlords have also realized that we only complain about any given thing for a few weeks, get used to it, and they can initiate another change afterwards. It's kind of sickening when you look back and see how gradual and perfectly-paced the inclusion of political correctness into our speech & media has been. 100% chance reptiles are to blame.
