Looking to get a new mouse

I honestly know nothing about computer mice. I just know that I want one that is wired, has light-up features and is design to work well for gaming. The bottom of my current mouse is acting kind of "stuck" at times and it has proven to be annoying for me. It is an older GAMDIAS mouse that came with a keyboard I had back in like 2015.

I don't want to spend too much on a mouse. So like $30 or less is ideal. Any suggestions?

    Go with Logitech.

They are cheap (<$20USD) and work.

My mouse will be outside your budget, lol. It's the most advanced on the market. Not saying that just to boast; I've been using it for around three years and don't know anything about recent low-cost ones.

Come to think of it, I received a couple of Amazon mice free for review last year. One of them was surprisingly good for a budget Chinese mouse. I'll also second what Mark said. Logitech has rarely failed me in the past. I was using a Logitech mouse for a few years before I got my current mouse. They're durable little things.

A fairly good Logitech mouse will probably cost more than $30 though. $40 is a possibility, or a used one.

I've bought two of these in the last 7 days: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Works well for me. $19.99

I want a mouse that is wired though and designed for gaming. Also, had LEDs on it. Yes, I am that picky. lol I don't want one of those cheap USB type ones. Maybe I should up my budegt to $40? or $50? I recently won some money gambling ($150) but I am not spending all of that on a mouse lol

USB-type is bad, huh? Would you prefer a mouse with a PS/2 connection?

    PS/2 ports, these old things:

It's old technology, but PS/2 keyboards (they're usually quite old) are faster than USB keyboards. From what I understand, USB mice are faster than PS/2 mice. If your computer has PS/2 ports, using a converter adapter would probably make your USB keyboard faster. (I wouldn't bother for mice.) However, there are caveats. There's a lot of functionality that USB offers that PS/2 can't. A USB-to-PS/2 adapter could refuse some of the bells and whistles.

Even if a PS/2 mouse is faster (AFAIK it wouldn't be) than USB, the difference would only matter to people who are very serious about their response times in (usually FPS) gaming. That is certainly the case for PS/2 keyboards anyways.

I'm not sure what else you'd be talking about than PS/2. Only other thing would be bluetooth. (Or with a proprietary wireless protocol, but I won't go into that, lol. ) They're pretty much never designed for gaming because wireless is always at least a little slower.

I meant USB wireless. Like the ones that come with a USB receiver.

I must have written that out wrong. LOL I didn't even notice it. I am likely just going to go with some Logitech one. They seem to get good ratings.

Ah. Wireless mice can be mostly good or kinda bad. When they have their own special dongles the connection is often quite strong and there shouldn't be a big latency problem. If it's bluetooth, avoid that. Either way a wired mouse is indeed better, cable mess aside.

I'm fine with a wired mouse because the wire goes under my tower anyways. I use one of those IKEA tables as a desk so my tower is up on it next to the monitor. I'll likely just end up telling my husband to get two of whatever he gets. He tends to pick out good mice. I am just fussy about how it feels and I like it to have LEDs on it because I am stuck in the epic gamer phase of owning a gaming computer. (I like everything that can light up, to light up) lol
