Thread: Is there any anime coming out this year worth checking out?

I am talking about a completely new series. I have a hard time finding stuff like this and usually, when an anime is good, I am like 3 years late on finding out. lol

So are there any 2020 series starting that would be worth checking out?

the problem with anime coming out in the future is that we don't know if they are any good or worth checking out yet!
I could take a look at the upcoming season(s) and probably pick out a few heavy hitters with my well-trained eye, but ultimately your safest bet would be a followup season of a show you already like.

as close to current as I've gotten is Demon Slayer, and man it was really good. It hurts a bit that it's only 1 season, I just want to keep watching it.

The movie is coming out soon, isn't it? It covers the 2nd arc.

Yeah, the movie Kimetsu no Yaiba covers the second arc. It's coming out this year, but no date official date has been set.

As for any other anime, Somali and the Forest Spirit is fantastic.
It's a fairly lighthearted story about a young human girl named Somali is found abandoned and shackled in a forest by its guardian golem.
The story takes place in a fantastic world with a ton of different species or all shapes and sizes. Humand been hunted to near extinction because humans attacked many of the different species because humans are dicks, and the golem decides to find humans to take care of Somali

because the golem is reaching his 1000 year lifespan

The story is well told and the characters are wonderful, but the animation and world is phenomenal. The world would be amazing as an RPG setting. I highly recommend this one. It's on Crunchyroll.
If you're looking for a decent sports anime, Ahiru no Sora is a good basketball anime.
If you're looking for a cute anime whose sole purpose is to make you smile, Have You Seen my Tama? Will do the trick.

Outside of anything that's already started, Fruits Basket 2019 Season 2 is coming out soon, which should be good.
given's movie and Is coming out in May if anyone else watched that anime.

I wanted to add that the 2nd season or Re:Zero is coming out this July. I had a friend introduce me to the show a year ago and I thought it was pretty good and it gets a lot darker than you might think. I would say it's worth checking out if you're into that kind of stuff.

But it is a really good isekai. One of the better ones out there, imo.
I'm excited for a new season. I'll probably rewatch season one to refresh my memory.

I forgot. Its not this year, but the Thousand Year Blood War arc of Bleach is finally getting an anime adaptation starting next year. And since the manga is finished, they won't need any more filler arcs! Huzzah!

I search "Bleach anime" and "Tite Kubo" every other week or so to see if I can find any new info on upcoming Bleach stuff ever since the manga ended, how did I miss this? Is it an April Fool's joke? I watched the entire anime and read the manga to boot. Ever since that Burn the Witch one-shot came out years ago I've felt like something was gonna happen but there was never any concrete evidence. Upon searching it right now, I see that Burn the Witch is getting serialized as well?!?!

I just watched the first episode of the digimon adventure remake, it is really really good. They took the maturity and animation quality of summer wars and put it back into the original digimon story. Only problem is that there's only one episode out at the moment.

I saw Billiam's video about that on Youtube the other day, I had forgotten they were doing a reboot. I'll need to check it out. In late-2016 I watched through Digimon Adventure again in preparation for watching Digimon Adventure Tri. It was fun, but very veeerrrry aged.
