    The biggest clowns

Who are the biggest clowns in varies anime shows?

In Ranma 1/2, I think it is Kuno. He never figured out Ranma's secret while it has become public knowledge. He spent the whole show try to decide between Akane and "pigtailed girl" who is really Ranma. Then he ditched the two flowers he prepared for both girls and grabbed TONs of flowers after he saw how hot Ukyou really is after she dressed up like a girl for the first time. (Ukyou was dressing up like a guy the whole time until she wanted Ranma's attention)

In Naruto, I think it is Naruto himself, maybe Gai too. Naruto gets "abused" most often in the show, and is the laughing stock most of the time. Gai also makes the show funny, without characters like him it is just not the same.

    RE: The biggest clowns

Goku. Sure, he can be serious when he really needs to be, but he's largely an utter imbecile.

Still, he's better than Yamcha. He doesn't even qualify as a clown.
"It turned out that the ghost was just Mr. Finley, who ran the amusement park. The spooky part is that, as soon as the ghost appeared, the teenagers' dog began to speak! And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"

    RE: The biggest clowns

Well, the Outlaw Star "clown" should be obvious to most.

Also, Fred Luo is a good source of comedy. As for other series/films, hmmm. In the film Paprika, Dr Tokita is seen by some as comedic due to his blunders and being morbidly obese, as parody videos like this will show (warning: excessive language)...

Let me introduce you to Welcome to the NHK!, a series from six years ago. It's to a great extent a comedy series, but a lot of the comedy revolves around Sato's (the main protagonist) misfortune. He is a NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) and a recluse, but is eventually approached by somebody from his past who he agrees to develop an eroge dating sim with. He does however often find himself in unfortunate situations.

Next we have Jeremiah Gottwald from Code Geass. With his mind controlled, he let a prisoner escape due to the possibility of details about a project called "Orange" getting out. Or at least, that's what everybody who watched the TV broadcast was led to believe. The Orange project was an elaborate lie set up by the person who was controlling his mind to divert attention away from the escape effort. From then on, Jeremiah was ridiculed by fellow higher-ups of the Holy Britannian Empire and called "Orange Boy", and for the rest of Code Geass often played the "clown" role.

I'll probably add more some other time.
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

Not gonna lie. I didn't click on this thread for the longest time because I thought it was actually about clowns which I must say I'm actually afraid of... -_-

Well now that that's cleared up! The biggest clown I've ever seen in anime would hands down be vash the stampede from trigun.

Do you guys like the clowns of the anime? I think they are what make the shows more fun and enjoyable. It sucks when they kill off a clown or two. Then the show becomes less funny.

    RE: The biggest clowns

In Escaflowne, Merle, she has her serious moments like all clowns, but she made me giggle. So did Van's classic clueless male look.

Tamaki in OHSHC. He's a bit of an idiot, but he's a genius at making people laugh... he's only truly serious in the last two episodes.

Tasuki, Nuriko and Miaka are the clowns of Fushigi Yűgi. But all the characters have their clown phases.

Tyson/Takao in Beyblade. Obsessed with food and goes from bonehead to brilliant in a matter of seconds.

Shaman Kings Rio/Ryu... so funny "Be my lady" to every girl he meets, he even misjudged one character... he offered flowers to a person he thought to be a girl... the person turned out to be a guy. xD

Certainly. No matter how serious a series is, I think nearly all require at least one idiotic character. We laugh at idiots. It's human nature.

For School Rumble is Tenma and Harima. Tenma is obvious and Harima for trying and failing to impress the oblivious Tenma.

Sometimes the clowns don't even have to be an idiot. Just some funny guy do silly things on purpose or not, and they are always extremely positive no matter how terrible the world they live in lol.
