Will we get another DBS movie or a series?

I heard rumors that there will be an announcement soon pertaining to Dragon Ball Super. I am not sure if this means we will get news on a new movie or if we will end up getting another installment to the series. I am hoping for the series myself. The movies are okay but they go by to fast.

Do you think another movie is in the works? Or more episodes for the series? Both?

I hope it's more manga. I'm sure there are more movies, manga, and anime series in the works. It's Dragon Ball we're talking about here.

The ever-expanding amount of media in the Dragon Ball franchise is mostly why I'll never get into it, or even attempt to. This goes for some other anime/manga. There's simply too much and I dislike leaving stories unfinished.

You could still enjoy the earlier work without getting into Dragon Ball Super and the newer stuff. I mean if you ever decide to, you might want to skip GT though. Most people seem to hate that one. lol

I watched a handful of the original Dragon Ball's episodes. It was okay. Certainly not what I was expecting (a lot gentler, one might say) because Dragon Ball Z is all I ever heard about. Hell, even Ranma is far shorter than either of those and I didn't quite finish that. (As a side note, that's a good show, but I prefer Maison Ikkoku. Kinda apples and oranges though.)

Thankfully, we had DBZ on TV in the USA when I was a kid. Same Toonami programming block as OLS was on during the afternoon. I sort of got into it by default just because it was on TV at such a convenient time, and I bet it's the same for Korin. That would have been 20 years ago, so I can absolutely understand that it would be a daunting task to approach Dragon Ball when you're 30 years behind the curve. 3 or 4 months ago I began tackling the manga starting from Chapter 1 of Dragon Ball, so I'll report back if I ever do consume EVERYTHING and if it's remotely worth it to try.

I haven't watched much of the Dragon Ball anime, I find it to be dull and too silly especially compared to the manga (which isn't dark and brooding by any means, but less slapstick trope-y anime humor and less yelling). DBZ is great, and Super is pretty good. Some folks will tell you that DBZ Kai is sufficient to watch since it's just sort of an abridged series if I recall correctly.....and then there's GT which is non-canon so we don't need to talk about it unless you get really deep into Dragon Ball and REALLY want to hear about it.

I remember being blown away when I found out that Ranma 1/2 was written/illustrated by the same woman as InuYasha after noticing some stylistic similarities. Then stumbling across Urusei Yatsura years later and going WHOA I RECOGNIZE THIS. .........and then there's Rin-Ne.......yep. The poor old lady ended InuYasha, my second favorite anime/manga series and took a (well deserved) break only to return with the most bland, by-the-numbers, uninspired InuYasha knock-off she could think of. I'll always have my memories of InuYasha being damn near perfect for a shonen series to grow up with. I was 100% all in, dude.

I guess the Jump Fest or whatever it was called only announced something for a game and DBS Heros continuing. So it looks like no new series anytime soon. Kind of disappointed.

The super broly movie was packed when I went. I'm absolutely sure there will be another movie or continuation of the series.

I'll never tire of The Super Saiyan Super Show.
"It turned out that the ghost was just Mr. Finley, who ran the amusement park. The spooky part is that, as soon as the ghost appeared, the teenagers' dog began to speak! And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"
