    Favorite anime comedy

I don't think I've seen this discussed so I think it should be cool for me to post this. I've always been fond of japanese humor so I decided to dedicate a thread on some of the comedic anime that we get a kick out of.

I love Sex and Violence with Machspeed. It's a short studio trigger did before they got big and it consists of a hyperactive shark whose nose gets stuck into his monkey's cohorts ass that transforms it into a hulking bruiser and their female companion is a living blow up doll and they get in trouble with a crime syndicate that consists of dinosaurs looking for their son (Who is a dog because of course he is). If there is one show that I would point to as the zenith of batshit japanese humor, it's this show. It's delightfully demented and has a pretty cool art style to boot. They actually posted the whole thing on youtube but for some reason, it's only got spanish subtitles which is weird because there was one posted that had english subtitles..aw fuck it, you can still make out what's going on. Besides, you watch it for the crazy visuals anyway.

And an honorable mention goes out to Cromartie High School. I remember seeing this a long time ago but I absolutely loved it. What makes it funny for me is that you have some of the most absurd crap going but all of the characters look at it with serious, deadpan expressions which just adds to the humor of the show. You got delinquents eating pencils, a robot with a soothing voice, and Freddie Mercury is a lead character on the show. I gotta rewatch this one one of these days.

There's others that I could list but I'm too lazy to list the others. You guys take over.

    I've always loved School Rumble.
It's a basic Slice of Life that's enhanced by great comedy, and even some decent romance.
    There's Imadori's fun song

Then there's Harima, the delinquent with heart of gold.

I just have a lot of fond memories of watching this with my friends, and we still quote this show all the time. Especially the 3 song.

Then there's the legendary Ghost Stories. I doubt I have explain why Ghost Stories is such an amazing comedy, but I'll link to one of the best scenes of the dub anyway.

There's also Daily Lives of Hogh School Boys that isnjust as it sounds.
It's a simple anime that follows a group of high school friends as they go about their daily lives.
It's simple, but it's the best representation of the boring lives of completely normal high schoolers with no super powers or crazy romances.

I would have posted that but because pseudo already did I'll choose some others.

I don't like the show in general, but this one bit stands out. The show is 99% just that terrible 'being loud is funny' kind of comedy, but this one segment had so many gags so quickly I enjoyed it:

A certain scene from Watamote that's equal parts cringe and funny if you know the context. Basically, the whole episode leads up to this point where all these innocent things add up to a really uncomfortable scene when her dad walks in:
"Out of the ground, raze all greenery with flame! Fire2!"

I mentioned this manga/anime a few times already: Welcome to the NHK. I think that gag anime can be good but I often found the jokes to be overused. I choose Welcome to the NHK because it's simultaneously a dramatic slice-of-life and a black comedy. It somehow manages to balance them out perfectly. I mention this because I'd very rarely seen anime pull off down-to-earth black comedy effectively.

Like any decent black comedy, it cleverly makes bleak real-life scenarios quite humorous. I enjoy the way this anime hits you in the feels at the same time.
