    Love stories

I don't know of any that have been placed around a love story but rather had a love story placed inside the main plot. Sometimes I am in the mood for a good romance story but not always live action. I much rather would watch it in an anime or cartoon, heck even some video games do them well!

I know there are some anime series out there that are centered around love stories, but which would you consider the best?

Are there any you would recommend?

Escaflowne's a shoujo favourite of mine that features a love triangle between the female lead protagonist and the other two main (male) protagonists. It's not a romance per se, but Hitomi (the lead) is often troubled by her feelings and deciding who she's really in love with.

A classic romantic comedy anime and manga that I love is Maison Ikkoku. It's funny as hell and also a nice love story. Though I can't really say I'm an expert at what constitutes one since I'm not actually a fan of romcoms in the slightest! But as somebody who usually hates them, if I really enjoy one it's gotta be good!

I think that a good love story can really make or break a scene or a whole plot, but it also depends a lot on the characters themselves and the context. I have just seen too many good ones start and then it turns out the people are unlikeable.

Rurouni Kenshin has a really sweet development between Kenshin and Kaouru, though that's mostly a running sub-plot.
    Life is demanding, without understanding.

Going to check those out guys, thanks for sharing. I am sure I can find them online. If all fails I will watch them on CrunchyRoll and put up with the LQ videos and ads. I don't want to pay for that right now. I will eventually have to since I am getting back in to anime again though haha

I should also mention a show I probably recommend a little too often: Bakuman. The spoilers below are very minor since it all happens in the first episode. Though it isn't specifically a romance as a whole, one of its central themes is indeed romance between the lead protagonist (Mashiro) and a girl he'd been attracted to since elementary school called Azuki. She had always shared the same feelings.

    Love stories-tumblr_luaj4brcql1qbs05mo1_500-gif

Mashiro's uncle was a famous mangaka (manga artist) who passed away, but Mashiro always looked up to him and was inspired to sketch manga art frequently growing up. At fourteen years old, one of his classmates called Takagi asked Mashiro to team up with him to create manga together. He had noticed how Mashiro often drew pictures of Azuki in class and dragged Mashiro (who was originally reluctant to accept Takagi's request) to Azuki's house where he proposed to her in a manner of speaking—Mashiro asked her if she'd marry him if he succeeded in getting an anime which she'd voice the heroine in.

She accepted, but with conditions. Throughout Mashiro and Takagi's journey to become famous manga artists, Mashiro and Azuki could never meet until the dream of an anime was accomplished. The only means of communication was text messaging. The story takes place over the following years, and despite their restricted communications it's a really sweet love story. If you've ever seen Death Note, this is the creators' next project. One of the coolest things is that although the love story is something fictionally introduced, the characters and lives of Mashiro and Takagi are based on the two creators of this and Death Note, or so I heard.

Edit: Click the names and you'll see their roles.

If you're looking for an addictive and inspirational anime with some cute romance I couldn't recommend Bakuman more.

That sounds like a really goo story actually. I will be sure to check it out soon! I have been in the mood for some romance stories and for some reason, anime ones just do a better job to me than real life ones haha

School Rumble is the closest I have to a favourite. Definitely the funniest for me. The ending was godawful though.
