Thread: What Manga Are You Reading?

We have this kind of topic for anime and other things...Why not manga!?

I spent a good amount of time in the wee hours reading manga (If it's possible to read too much manga, I probably do). The one that I remember the most from last night that I really enjoyed was the manga Kaeru no Ossan (or, in English, Old Man Frog) by Zenyuu Shimabukuro. It's a comedy gag manga that's got main characters with animal features- the title character is a frogman with a human body and a frog head, who has difficulties due to his, uh, unique body. There's also a fly-man, a centaur, etc. It focuses on a fifth grader who lives with his mom and the old frog guy, and who acts as the straight-man in all the unusual situations that go about in the story. Despite being really silly...It does hit some adult concepts, though. I'm not sure I'd let a little kid read it. But for me, it's fun.

What have YOU been reading?

I don't read manga very often, but I'm thinking about getting into Vagabond. I used to read Naruto and Bleach a lot when I was younger but eventually lost interest in them.

I finally got into reading manga recently and I've been occasionally enjoying Maison Ikkoku. Fifteen volumes, so it's gonna be a long ride. (Not as long as Fullmetal Alchemist though which I own.)

I've been reading A Silent Voice, which is a rather interesting premise, and it's been a nice Slice of Life anime so far.

The premise is that back in Elementary School, a deaf transfer student transfers to a school, and the entire class eventually starts bullying her and messing with her, and the main character, Shoyo, takes the brunt of the blame, and basically is isolated from the rest of his peers until high school, where he meets up with the deaf girl, Shoko, again, and tries to do everything he can to make up for what he put her through when they were younger

I'm currently following JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Besides that, I pick up "A Certain Scientific Railgun" whenever a new volume comes out. But I think I'm one or two behind now. I've also been (very) slowly working through Tokyo Ghoul.
