Do you re-watch anime at all?

Most likely nobody would re-watch a series they'd like, but how many here re-watch their favourite series? And if you do, how often? Each year? Multiple times a year?

Personally I cannot stand watching anything twice, as when I already know what's going to happen, where is the fun in that? Even the series that I really love I cannot watch again, because I get the whole "I know what's going to happen in this part, so let me do something else during that" mentality going, and then ultimately I end up not watching the series the slightest.

I usually re-watch anime only when I haven't seen it in years or if someone I know hasn't seen it yet and might like it. Sometimes you miss things the first time and it helps with subsequent viewings. "Baccano!" is definitely such an anime you need to watch multiple times to see all the foreshadowing. If you remember the whole thing vividly, watching it with someone else is like watching yourself when you watched it for the first time. I get a kick seeing peoples reactions to maybe a character death or major plot twist. :p

I've watched Outlaw Star over ten times, easily. I can't give an exact number though. I've watched some favourites twice, perhaps a couple three times. I don't know why I do it. Why play through a story-based video game twice? Sure, games feature interaction and things are always going to be a little bit different, but many people play very linear games a few times, so it's kinda the same thing. You know what's going to happen. If you love doing it, so be it. Sometimes when I visit my parents I watch TV shows (I know, not anime, but the same principle applies) with my mother. Not only do I enjoy it anyway, but like Scottran7 said, it's fun to see somebody else's reaction.
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

I've watched a number of series at least twice. Outlaw Star, .hack//SIGN, Cardcaptors...Lots more too. I think I've watched Natsume Yuujinchou 3 times now? And Phi Brain probably as much...? I usually keep at least a few months between watching, or years. It varies a lot with me basically. But since my memory is bad, after a certain amount of time, I just want to resee it to see if I remember things correctly I guess? And sometimes I find things I missed. I also am like this with Manga. I read more than I watch though, so while I rewatch a series maybe three times, I'll reread something like ten. xD

Yea, I tend to do that a lot. I'm a sucker for nostalgia. When an anime manages to make a deep connection with me emotionally, it's hard to let go of it. I've rewatched Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood 4 times (almost on a once/year basis), rewatched Code Geass twice, Death Note 3 times, and Monogatari Series twice, as well as the record holder... 6 times for Hunter x Hunter (4 times for the 1999 version and twice for the 2011 version). I rewatch my favorite series a lot, it's rare that I get bored of them even after the second time, but they do lose a little bit of their charm because you already know everything that's happened in details. Still, sometimes it's not all about the unexpected twists and just about the overall feeling of the show.

I'll re-watch anime I've already seen and like when I run out of anime on my watch list or when I'm feeling particularly nostalgic about a certain genre and I really have nothing better to do on that particular day.

Yeah, I re-watch anime; returning to old favorites is a great personal pleasure, I get to re-analyze it from various filmic perspectives, and have new (sometimes profound) takeaways for different stages I'm at in my life. I also re-read favorite books of mine (The LOTR is a yearly event I look forward to). I mean, you listen to favorite music over and over, right? (Or, does anyone here listen to a song one time, and "well, that's it, I know the words, I know what they're gonna' say and what chords they're gonna' play, so why bother?")

I only really do it with friends. If one or more friends hasn't watched anime I really like, ill always watch it again.
Although, I've watched Outlaw Star quite a few times. Because it's awesome lol

I rewatch a few, but not very many. Here is my list of anime I rewach: Outlaw Star (Duh!), Burn-up W/Excess becuase it has classic 90's fanservice comedy, Bubblegum Crisis OVA series becuase it has good animation for the time, good stories and kick-ass soundtrack; Nadia: Sectret of Blue because it's just a good classic anime done by the same guys that did NGE and Ruin Explorer just for nostalgia of being one of the first anime for me.
We are all insane, we just act normal for the sake of others.
