Have you ever wished you were part of a story?

I often fine myself getting into shows, specially anime, and imaging myself being a character in the story. Sometimes I am the hero, sometimes I am the villain. It is just something I tend to do and have done since I was a child. I think it makes things fun for me when I am waiting between episodes.

Have you ever wished you were part of a story?

Occasionally I think this, but it really depends on what the show is. Being in the world of FMA would be pretty cool, I think.

I do it all the time with shonen. I usually imagine myself as a character, imaging what weapon/power i would have. I like it. It's fun to get into shows like that. Gets you a bit more invested.

While I don't imagine myself as part of the main cast, I sometimes place myself into the world and imagine what I would be like there.

I was thinking about it since asking this, and I think these kinds of exercises in the mind are good in a way. Think about how you use to use your imagination as a child... I think doing things like this with books, anime, shows, movies, ect is a good way to stay in touch with that freeing/free sense you had as a kid.

I think I prefer to view the story from a comfortable distance, to be honest. There's no way I would last five seconds in The Walking Dead. I think it takes a bit of an egoist to say "Yeah, I would be a valuable asset in this fictional universe" but maybe that's just me being a boring sod. I wouldn't mind living somewhere peaceful like the Pokémon universe, but being an active participant in the story is something I could happily do without.

Interesting. I guess I've never wished to be part of a story in a show. I have tried to imagine what it would be like to be my character in a video game. That is often a topic of conversation. So, after being asked, I tried to really think about it. I guess I"m not as imaginative as I was when I was a kid though. Maybe I should try some of these types of exercises more often to get the imagination going.

Only when I watch harems with indecisive male leads. Someone needs to slap them

I'm pretty sure most of us wish we were in a story. Life can get so mundane to the point that you'll fantasize of being part of a cool story or something. It's a cheap way to entertain yourself, I guess. I'm sure most of us wish that we were a significant character in a story or something. And you know, the whole "I wish I could do special things."
