    Care for some tea?

    Hi, all!

Can't promise I'll be too active here, but Outlaw Star is a great love of mine, so I'll stop in every now and then to post some doodles.

I joined mainly to give back to the fandom with art. Mad props to Mantis for posting the model sheets and concept work in general. OLS material, particularly the storyboards, manga and light novels, are so hard to come by, and seeing the love for it just revives the series for me.

All that said, it's a pleasure to meet you.

I do have one small question regarding image attachments.

I noticed when posting the above from a URL, that I was given an option to "Retrieve remote file and reference locally". Is that basically putting it on the OutlawStarNex.us server? I don't want to lag the servers down with mass image posts, but without that option checked, the image displayed as an attachment rather than visible within the post.

And, kinda late to ask, but for forum etiquette, are double posts okay?

Hello Hisa. It's always nice to see a new face, more so if you're contributing to the fandom. I'm glad you've enjoyed my scans. There's plenty more where they came from. Welcome to Nexus.

As for your questions, I actually prefer that people select that option. There's plenty of space on this server, and the problem with people linking to free image hosting sites is that if the image is eventually deleted (which it no doubt will be somewhere down the line) the post will show a large blank 404 box. When you make it local that will never happen. So, no worries about that.

I'm quite lenient about double posts. Of course, there are times when common sense should apply, but in threads like these and journal threads they're fine. If you have any questions though, just send a PM.

Even if you're just popping in every now and then, I hope you'll enjoy your stay. Also, that Suzuka art is brilliant.

    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

Welcome aboard, Hisa! I'll have a cup, with a generous helping of sugar if you don't mind.

I love that Suzu art of yours, it's very cute. I'd love to see the rest of the crew in that style!

It would be fun to draw them that way! I helped myself and made a topic in Starwind&Hawking with some scribbles.

Now for the pressing question, what's your favourite flavor of tea?

Erm... PG Tips? To be honest, I just like plain old tea with milk and sugar as that's what is most common here in the UK. Even then, I like it for dunking biscuits more than anything. Can't have custard creams without it!

I have been meaning to try green tea, as I hear it can be very soothing. What kind of tea do you like, Hisa?

It's funny to me that you call them 'scribbles' when they're so well drawn! If you want to see some scribbles, you should see this thread... http://www.outlawstarnex.us/showthre...draw-an-Outlaw

Hi there Hisa, nice to meet you! I love your art already. I look forward to looking at more! But she's so dainty and cute...and the details are amazing. I'm jealous of your skill! What program do you use?

I like tea...especially green tea, or mixes of green tea, berry and mint. But I like new friends much better. Let's get along well!

@Hari: Oh, wow, that's interesting. Is that more of a name brand? I don't think I've heard of it. I like dunking twice-baked biscotti in mine. Such a sweet tooth. I'll have to try tea with milk, I don't typically add cream to my tea.

    Anise tea is my favourite.

I'll check out the thread, thanks for recommendation!

Edit: @Juneberry: Your comment snuck up on me! I use Paint Tool Sai and Photoshop CS. I just got Sai 1 within the last two months and it came with Sai 2 for free, since, I think, the creator is dropping the project.

Have you tried bubble tea? I've heard there is a green tea variant, but I'm sensitive to caffeine so I can't drink it. (/TДT)

    Nice to meet you!

Nope, my dad just mixes tea packets together for me sometimes. Yes, my dad usually makes the tea...because I'm a pyrophobe and lazy. I'm not big on milk in my tea...or sugar. The later shocks people since I have such a big sweet tooth. What's anise tea?

I can't take tea without milk, it's far too bitter for me. Same with coffee-- I can only drink it with plenty of sugar! Anise tea sure does look nice, though. I'm reading about it now. Is it true that it has a licorice kind of flavor? Interesting...

Feel free to join in, if you like! I'm sure you can whip up something much better in one minute than I can.
