    Hello Everyone!

I found this little place through one of the members here and thought it looked nice, so signed up. Honestly, I've never seen Outlaw Star, (to my shame) but could be something to put on my "to watch" list. It looks like an interesting show. I do watch anime on a casual basis and have done for the past 15 years or so. I'm just a bit picky because I like more serious shows that don't contain a whole bunch of fanservice and weird undertones. lol.

I'm also into gaming and see many on this forum are too. I play mainly on Steam these days and I've been recently addicted to Slay the Spire, a single-player rogue-like deck-building game. I enjoy board games, RPG, JRPG and RTS mostly. ^^

Holy hell, that cat is piercing my soul.

Hello Shannon and welcome to Outlaw Star Nexus! I feel similarly about anime or most fiction for that matter. The anime I've enjoyed most is more serious in nature. Outlaw Star has one episode that's mostly fanservice which was only really created to shift DVD copies and wrap up a few loose ends. (It was a bonus episode.) Otherwise it's a seinen anime that takes itself seriously, bar the occasional gag. I'd say my second, third and fourth favourite anime are Welcome to the NHK, Monster and Bakuman, respectively. They're all pretty serious anime. (Having said that, there's a lot of black comedy in NHK but it works so well in a mental health context.) If you have any favourite genres maybe we could offer suggestions?

    Steam FTW!

Well... Zemekis is our resident RPG authority (probably would only touch JRPGs though) so you're certainly not alone there. I also know a diehard RTS fan here.

That cat bunny is awesome haha!

When I say "serious" I don't necessarily mean totally devoid of humour. There have been plenty of humourous bits in anime that I've enjoyed. I just don't enjoy cheap laughs like some guy having an oops moment and touching a girl's boob or bum. None of that is funny to me. =)

I suppose, I generally stick to historical, sc-fi and fantasy anime, but that's not a rule. If I hear of a great show from another genre, I sometimes watch those too. ^^

Welcome to the forum! I love that avatar LOL cats are the greatest. I too play games through Steam, way better than console. Took me a few years to switch over but I don't regret it. I hope you enjoy your stay here!
